A total of BD18,000 has been raised for children suffering from various diseases during an annual charity football tournament.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Manama, the six-a-side tournament saw the participation of 18 teams at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club, Saar.
More than 1,000 people attended the tournament on Friday, where Bader Group topped the charts after beating Manama Tours in the finals.
This year, the event aimed to spend its proceeds for the examination and counselling of children with chronic diseases.
This is in addition to organising recreational activities for orphaned children and those suffering from autism, blindness and other disabilities.
“We are delighted today with the goal of this tournament, which we have been planning to achieve, which is to fight chronic diseases in the country,” said club president Bob Thaker.
