Dubai: A meteor shower will fill the sky of the United Arab Emirates, offering a celestial treat to star-gazers.
The meteors which hail from the Lyre constellation, or 'Lyrids', can be seen from all over the world, reported Ittihad newspaper.
The meteor shower will reach its climax tonight after midnight and continue until the early hours of Sunday. According to the report in the Emirati newspaper, the meteor shower would be seen with naked eye and without the aid of a telescope.
Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences deputy director-general Ibrahim Al Jarwan said that the meteor shower happens annually, during the period from April 16 to 25.
