FLIGHTS from Bahrain to Jeddah are fully booked as more than 2,300 Bahrainis will attend a wrestling show in Saudi Arabia.

The event, The Greatest Royal Rumble, will be held tomorrow night by the WWE following a 10-year partnership deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority.

More than 62,000 are set to attend the sold-out show being held at King Abdullah International Stadium, which for the first time will feature all WWE male belts outside of the US, while a 50-man top rope elimination battle royal is also set to be held.

Local events travel organiser Maitham Hammad told the GDN that travel agents have started turning people away after flights on Gulf Air and other regional operators were fully booked this weekend.

“There are around 450 people who have bought tickets from Bahrain to go to the event, but are without flights to Jeddah and back,” he said.

“Within us, travel agents in Bahrain, there are around 2,380 air tickets on all regional operators from Wednesday to Saturday, and Gulf Air flights are fully booked.”
