An event celebrating Bahrain’s heritage opened yesterday under the patronage of Shaikha Lulwa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, daughter of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The Children and Mothers Welfare Society is holding the event under the theme ‘Bahraini Customs and Traditions’ at its headquarters in Isa Town.

The event featured many activities, in addition to folklore songs that reflect Bahrain’s deep-rooted culture.

Shaikha Lulwa hailed Bahraini society’s keenness to preserve its culture and traditions.

She said such events highlight Bahrain’s authentic traditions and inform the new generations about their fathers and forefathers’ heritage and consolidates national identity.

Children and Mothers Welfare Society chairperson Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa thanked Shaikha Lulwa for patronising the event, hailing her keenness to support Majid Alzayani Quran Centre and other activities and programmes.

Shaikha Lulwa received a commemorative memento from Shaikha Haya bint Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
