Fishermen evicted from along coasts in Muharraq will be allowed to continue using a corniche until the end of Ramadan under an urgent deal reached today.

Around 300 fishermen faced being forcibly made to vacate Al Ghous Corniche tomorrow.

However, Muharraq Municipal Council chairman Mohammed Al Sinan told the GDN the deal was agreed after authorities were alerted to the plight of the fishermen and their inability to either find alternative locations or make arrangements.
