Good news, that the Australian Capital Territory government, has banned the racing of greyhounds.
And strengthened the laws in relation to vicious dogs, must be muzzled and restrained on a leash in public.
Especially French bulldogs, Dobermans, and sundry breeds, any bred especially for dogfighting.
I didn’t believe such atrocious things were done in Australia, but occasionally, media reports of raids on obscure properties on the outskirts of Australian cities, by the police, accompanied by organisations by RSPCA Prevention of cruelty to animals inspectors.
People are naturally appalled, especially, in Australia and such revelations in Bahrain.

Vile perpetrators, secret locations of illegal dog pits, where some of these poor animals, will often fight to the death, sometimes over a period of hours.
Also, so scum, can wager on the outcome.
Most of these animals have to be put down; they can never be returned to the general dog community; they are simply trained killers.
Sad also to read the death of the Dogfather, after a long struggle with cancer, has succumbed.
His retention of all rescued animals that came to him, was criticised, but no-one could doubt his devotion to all animals and ensuring they were welcome at his home.
He sought handouts and help in money and kind, for his costs as well as through fund raising by friends and acquaintances, and the provision of food for his animals, by major pet food suppliers
His was in an existential struggle, to find funds for his activities
I read, in last week’s GDN letters column, of a woman, harassed by a pack of stray dogs, demanding that there had been enough talking, the government “should do something about it.”
Fair enough concerns, not enough has been done to reel in the growing dog menace.
Well that equation has changed with an animal rights activist, who has established her own animal rescue operation, and has persuaded a group of highly skilled veterinarians from the United States, to come and help with the neuter programme.
And they agree, paying their own way, good Samaritan volunteers who set up a “production line”, 100 dogs neutered a day.
The objective, as a previous Dutch consultancy was similarly active in such a programme, until the government funding ran out.
So well done indeed, and a hope that local vets may also assist, even though there is also a measure of scepticism amongst experts on both sides of the neutering fence, that it is simply only focusing on a very small sample, as well as the efficacy of the treatment.
Nevertheless, it seems that this time the government authorities are on board.
OK, it doesn’t completely resolve the problem, but it sure makes a dent.
I just finish on those MPs, who are ceaseless, in attempting to gouge every last fil out of expats’ wage repatriation, also that, drivers licences costs, be doubled the general GCC price.
Thank goodness wiser heads prevailed.
I would simply defy the Constitution.
