Manama: The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (BCCI) Enterprise Initiative Centre organised a contest for university students entitled “Universities Startup Challenge”.
Over two days four groups from AMA International University, Ahlia University, Royal University for Women and Applied Science University with 10 members each worked to produce an applicable business action plan for their universities.
An internal committee from the chamber was assigned to evaluate the action plans according to a number of criterion, chief among which is the uniqueness and feasibility of the plan.
The Ahlia University team was named winner, AMA International University team runner up and Applied Science University second runner up.
Chamber chief executive Nabeel Al Mahmood honoured the participants while affirming the BCCI’s keenness to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
