Children took part in free throws in the basket contest yesterday as part of the first Bahrain Baby Olympics.
The event, held at the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities Hall at Isa Sports City in Riffa, for children aged from four to five was observed by representatives of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), the organisers of the event, as well as co-organisers the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Education, as well as their parents.
The organising committee, headed by Lounes Madene and public relations manager Mohammed Al Beloshi, divided the participants into two categories based on age, and competition was conducted in cooperation with a group of volunteers. The competition concluded with all the participants receiving bronze medals.
BOC secretary general Abdulrahman Askar, along with board members Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and Ali Isa, and Bahrain Table Tennis Association general secretary Ebrahim Siyadi were present to witness the activities.
Action continues today with competition in athletics and gymnastics, both of which will take place at Isa Sports City.
