Saudi Arabia's air defences intercepted two ballistic missile over the capital Riyadh on Wednesday, state television Al Ekhbariya said.
Several loud booms were heard in the city.
The ballistic missiles, which were launched by Iran-backed Houthi militias from Yemeni territories, were detected and destroyed as soon as they entered Saudi airspace.
Sources said that the missiles were launched from the region of Saada.
The Patriot defence system earlier intercepted a Scud missile as it was heading to the province of Jazan.
