Dubai – A group of Arab nationals are facing a lawsuit in the UAE on charges of human trafficking.
The suspects created a WhatsApp group and started exchanging porn videos and photos of prostitutes to lure customers for money.
The police busted the sex racket and referred the suspects to the Federal Prosecution in Abu Dhabi to be charged and then stand criminal trial.
The suspects, who are aged 38 to 40, were first accused of misusing the social media websites and making offensive sex comments.
However, their case was then aggravated to find themselves accused of human trafficking and running a sex racket for money.
The investigation revealed that they posted photos of prostitutes, who included underage children and making offensive comments.
Under the UAE federal law, the suspects are facing imprisonment and/or a heavy fine ranging from AED250,000 to AED500,000.
The tough penalties apply to anyone convicted of creating, managing a website and anyone indicted for posting, sending or resending porn videos of pictures or gambling activities or any other items deemed offensive to public decency.
