Sat, 12 May 2018

AN expatriate man who was bedridden in a hospital and suffering from memory loss died yesterday, according to a social worker.

Indian Josephy Koruth, 54, had been a resident in Bahrain for 32 years and had reportedly not been in contact with his family for the past 17 years.

He was kept at the Geriatric Hospital in Muharraq.

“His condition worsened on Thursday and he was taken to King Hamad University Hospital,” said Indian social worker Ezhamkulam Siyad last night.

“He died around 4am on Friday. We are waiting for the documentation required for repatriation.”

The GDN reported earlier this month that Mr Koruth’s family had allegedly refused to take him back.

He was reported to social workers by his room-mates after he collapsed from ill health. He was taken to the Salmaniya Medical Complex before being moved to the Geriatric Hospital.

He had no CPR or passport.
