RIFFA Blue Pearls were crowned champions during the closing ceremony of the 2017-2018 Bahrain women’s national football league on Friday night at Khalifa Sports City arena in Isa Town.
Former Manchester United defender and French international Mikael Silvestre was a special guest at the ceremony..
Also in attendance were Bahrain Football Association (BFA) women’s committee chairwoman Shaikha Hussa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, BFA general secretary Hassan Ismail and other officials.
Muharraq Club Tekkers claimed the runners-up crown and the Super Soccer Team the third-place trophy.
Shaikha Noof bint Khalid Al Khalifa of Blue Pearls won the best goal-keeper title, Lexi Martinez of Tekkers best player award and Ameera Bader Suwar of Blue Pearls the top scorer honour.
Bahrain Sparks Team also received an award.
At the end of the evening, Shaikha Hussa thanked BFA president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa for BFA’s continuous support to the women’s league and all their activities.
Ismail presented Silvestre a token of appreciation for his presence at the ceremony.
