Fortune Promoseven celebrated its 50th anniversary last night.
The full-service advertising company was established in 1968 in Beirut by seven partners, who each contributed capital equivalent to $1,000 and is part of McCann Worldgroup.
It has been operating in Bahrain since 1976 and to mark the anniversary, the firm commissioned a piece by Lebanese artist Yazan Halwani, which was unveiled in a celebration last night at the Promoseven Tower, in Muharraq.
“I always say, that although this brand was born in Beirut, it grew up in Bahrain,” said FP7 Mena chief executive Tarek Miknas on the occasion.
He added Bahrain had witnessed some of its biggest landmarks. “It is in Bahrain that we signed our first ever multinational client, Cathay Pacific – still a client today,” he added.
“It is from FP7 in Bahrain that we launched Coca Cola to the region in 1985 and it is FP7 in Bahrain that launched the McDonald’s brand across the GCC.”
The company has also contributed to the launch of Bahrain’s first Formula One in 2004 and has extended its geographical footprint to 14 other countries. “It was in Bahrain where we were first ever ‘The Most Effective Agency’ in the region in 2011,” he added.
