TUMOOH pipped Al Saqr Al Abyadh 4-2 in a thrilling penalty shootout late on Tuesday night to set up a title clash against Batelco Gunners United in the Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Tournament - Nasser 11 at Khalifa Sports City stadium.
Earlier, defending champions Batelco rallied from 0-2 down to stun Al Nawayef 4-2.
In the Tumooh-Al Saqr semi-final, regulation time ended 1-1. Omran Saeed fired Al Saqr ahead in the 56th minute while Mohammed Khalid equalised with 12 minutes remaining.
The final is set for tonight. It will be attended by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and president of Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Real Madrid star striker Karim Benzema.
Spectators will have an opportunity to win over 100 valuable prizes in raffle draws totally worth BD30,000, including five cars.
Meanwhile, the High Organising Committee of Nasser 11 announced a cash fund of BD60,000 to be distributed to teams and individual award winners.
Shaikh Nasser praised the sponsorship of Viva to Nasser 11. It’s worth noting that Ithmar Bank is the latest entity to join the sponsorship family of the event.
Initiative
In the earlier match, Al Nawayef scored twice in the first-half to grab the initiative.
But Batelco struck back in style in the second-half to turn the tables around 4-2.
It took Al Nawayef just four minutes to grab the lead as Sa’ad Amer slotted a low-right footed shot into the right corner of the goal.
They could have doubled the lead within seconds as his teammate Saleh missed from an one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper.
Al Nawayef continued missing clear-cut chances as Batelco goalkeeper made two sensational saves in the fifth and seventh minutes.
But Batelco looked a transformed side in the second-half as Ali Nasser pulled one back after 14 minutes and six minutes later Mahmood “Ringo” Abdulrahman equalised.
Hassan Abdulredha fired Batelco ahead in the 71st minute and Ouchi sealed an incredible victory with a few minutes remaining
