His Majesty King Hamad received Bahraini international referees Nawaf Shukrallah and Yassir Tilfat who are set to officiate 2018 World Cup matches in Russia.
HM the King praised the pair’s participation as the Kingdom of Bahrain’s representatives for the second time in the prestigious tournament which is set from June 14 to July 15 in Russia.
During the meeting, HM the King said their presence in such an international event is a source of pride for the people of Bahrain, lauding authorities’ efforts that allowed both of them to be selected for this year’s edition of the World Cup.
Shukrallah and Tilfat expressed their sincerest appreciation for HM the King’s constant support, and thanked Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalif, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, for his unwavering support.

Shaikh Nasser thanked HM the King for receiving Tilfat and Shukrallah that confirmed the Royal support to the sport.
“HM the King’s welcoming gesture to the referees will further motivate them to give their best and overcome any difficulties they face,” said Shaikh Nasser who congratulated the pair for their selection.
“We are confident of Tilfat and Shukrallah’s abilities to give strong performances in this year’s edition of the showpiece.”
