COUNTRIES in the region are at risk of a re-emergence of piracy despite there being no serious incident in the last six years.
Bahrain-based Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Deputy Commander Commodore Steve Dainton told the GDN that the presence of warships in the Arabian Gulf has deterred pirates, resulting in the reduction of the number of incidents to almost zero since 2012 .
