EMPOWERING experts who manage heritage sites in the Arab world is essential to preventing damage caused by ongoing conflicts, according to a top UN official.
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) heritage division head Dr Mechtild Rössler highlighted the potential aftermath of “intentional destruction” and the importance of empowering site managers to counter such risks .
