Sanad Youth Centre downed Northern Al Sehla Youth Centre 6-2 as the Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League got off to a thrilling start at Khalifa Sports City.
With this victory, Sanad Youth Centre moved atop Group 3 with three points. It was a come-from-behind victory for Sanad Youth Centre who fell behind in the first half after Qassim Hassan Al Rifai found the net for Al Sehla in the first half. However, they bounced back through a stunning performance in the second half.
Starring for the winners were Sadiq Jaffar and Nasser Riyadh who scored a brace each, while Hussain Ali and Ahmed Suhail added to their tally. Northern Al Sehla Youth Centre’s second goal came through Faisal Mansour Jawad.
In another Group 3 match, Al Qadisya Youth Centre defeated Al Hamala Youth Centre 3-1 to go second with three points.
Ahmed Janahi score a hat-trick for Al Qadisya while Al Hamala’s goal came through Hassan Mohammed.
Meanwhile, Salmabad Youth Centre stunned Al Jisra Youth Centre 5-0 in Group 4. The first half of the game ended 1-0 for the eventual victors thanks to Fadhel Abbas’ goal.
In another Group 4 match, Muharraq Model Youth Centre beat Al Buhair Youth Centre 9-6.
Salman Ali and Hamad Al Qalaf scored a hat-trick each for Muharraq Model.
VIVA’s chief government affairs officer Shaikh Zeyad bin Faisal Al Khalifa hailed the league as an important initiative by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to support to Bahraini youth.
