Arab coalition urges UN to 'avoid giving false information'

GDN Online Desk

Jeddah: The UN has been urged to tighten up procedures to avoid giving false information on the Arab coalition who back the internationally recognised government of Yemen, according to Arab News.

The coalition spokesperson on Wednesday rejected claims of violations attributed to the alliance made by the UN in an annual report. Colonel Turki Al Maliki said that the UN report was based on inaccurate information provided by unreliable sources.

Following publication of the Annual Report of the UN Secretary-General on Children and Armed Conflict, Col Al Maliki said the Arab coalition, founded at the request of the legitimate government of Yemen to protect the country and its people from Iranian-backed Houthi aggression, urged the UN to amend its procedures to ensure that no false information is included in its reports.
