UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been awarded the "Arab League Shield for Leadership in Arab Development", WAM reported.
Abu Dhabi executive council deputy chairman Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan described the pan-Arab award as a deserved honour for a visionary leader.
"We congratulate His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for this honour. It is a deserved honour for a leader who has a vision and broad humanitarian horizons that have become a school in development and giving his absolute faith in the ability of individuals and groups to work for the development of the homeland," he said in statement.
He commended what he called the Dubai Ruler’s non-conventional vision of empowering Arab societies, spreading knowledge, shaping the future and building a more stable world.
