Cairo - A Lebanese woman was sentenced to eight years in prison in Egypt.
A court in Cairo convicted Mona Al-Madbouh of moral indecency, contempt of religions and defamation of the Egyptian people.
She was arrested before leaving Egypt after posting a controversial video recording on her Facebook account.
Public Prosecutor Nabil Ahmed Sadiq remanded her in prison for four days pending investigation before referring her to the court of misdemeanors which sentenced her to eight years in jail.
The Lebanese woman posted a second video recording on her Facebook account to apologise to the Egyptian people, claiming that she was just recounting a personal experience in Egypt.
