MANAMA: The Premier yesterday called for unified efforts to protect Arab workers’ rights.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa made his remarks when he received at Gudaibiya Palace chairman of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation and the Central Council of the International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions, Jibali Mohamed Al Maraghi.
The Premier urged the need to hold on to Islamic principles at international labour gatherings to ensure workers’ rights.
He also urged co-ordination to project labour achievements in Arab countries and cast light on the ideal climate provided by governments to protect workers’ rights.
The Premier lauded deep-rooted relations between Bahrain and Egypt based on a long history of mutual understanding. He underlined Egypt’s regional and international role and its balanced policy in defending Arab issues. He also reiterated Bahrain’s support to Egypt, commending Egyptian stances in supporting Bahrain.
The Prime Minister wished Egypt and its people continuous growth and development under the leadership of President Abdel-Fatah Al Sisi.
He stressed Bahrain’s keenness to bolster co-operation, taking pride in solid ties binding both countries. He also underlined the importance of visits and meetings in further consolidating relations and co-operation.
He lauded the contribution of Egyptians in various sectors in Bahrain, voicing the kingdom’s appreciation of Egypt’s outstanding contribution in backing Bahrain’s efforts mainly in the educational and cultural fields.
The Prime Minister praised Egypt’s stances in supporting Arab countries and preserving regional security and stability, recalling with appreciation Egypt’s unflinching support to Bahrain in all measures taken to maintain its security and stability.
He also commended the stances of ETUF in supporting Bahrain at regional and international labour gatherings, stressing the need to foster co-operation between the trade unions in the Arab countries to maximise achievements and fast-track development.
