Buri Club opened their sixth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal campaign with a 4-0 win against Bani Jamra Club in Group 1 at Khalifa Sports City.
Hassan Jawad, who was the architect of Buri Club’s victory, earned himself the man of the match award.
In the same group, Al Dair club managed to clinch a 4-2 win against Barbar Club. Hisham Saeed contributed two goals for the winners and was named the man of the match.
Umm Al Hassam Club had to sweat to overcome Al Ma’ameer Club in a five-goal thriller in another Group 1 game, with their player Abdullah Ali claiming the man of the match award.
Tubli Club and Al Aker Club played a 5-5 draw. Mahmoud Abdulatif, who contributed three goals for Al Aker, was the man of the match.
Meanwhile, guests at the league commended the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, Bahrain Athletics Association president and Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities honorary president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the event which is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Affairs in partnership with Shaikh Khalid’s Media Office. They praised the league’s noble objectives and its positive effect on the youth and sports movement.

The league, which runs until August 9, is part of Shaikh Khalid’s initiatives to support Bharaini youth in sports and humanitarian fields.
The Hamad Town Majlises Delegation head said, “The initiatives of Shaikh Khalid have helped develop the youth and sports movement in the kingdom. These initiatives have had a positive impact on the Bahraini youth.”
Al Dair Club president Ali Al Madhi said, “The interest of Shaikh Khalid in organising the league over the past years has greatly contributed to the emergence of a large number of outstanding talents in futsal, capable of enriching national teams.”
He called on national clubs to use the league as an opportunity to discover talent and recruit players into their teams ahead of the sports season.
Barbar Club president Ali Hassan also praised the initiatives of Shaikh Khalid. “The league enhances the potential of players in national futsal teams,” he said.
