TWO expatriate businessmen who reportedly owe thousands of dinars to clients are missing from Manama since a week, it has been learnt.

According to a source, the Indian brothers, identified only as Madhu and Krishnan aged in their 50s, were last seen in Manama on Friday afternoon.

They have been running a shop on Lulu Road supplying construction materials.

“They owe money to many people including around BD5,000 to me,” said the source.

“They had given me a cheque for the money they owed but it bounced. I went looking for them and found their shop closed.

“I learnt they were last seen by a roommate on Friday and ever since then the shop has remained closed.

“I checked with their family in India (Kerala) and they said they didn’t know anything about them.”

No further details were available.
