The Pakistan Embassy has denied reports that a temporary ban has been imposed on its nationals entering Bahrain.

Charge d’affaires Murad Wazir on Thursday dismissed the “rumours” which he said he “personally verified” as “incorrect” from local authorities.

“The rumours were on since Wednesday but this is not true – there is no ban on Pakistanis entering Bahrain, be it re-entry or renewal visas or new passports,” he told the GDN.

The GDN quoted informed sources as saying that immigration officials had come across more than 50 forged Pakistani passports allegedly issued by the Pakistan Embassy in Bahrain which apparently led to the ban.
