A highly-qualified and experienced consultant urologist will be revisiting the Royal Bahrain Hospital (RBH) from July 14-21.
Dr Ravisankar G Pillai will be available for consultations on genito-urinary problems, such as prostate enlargement, frequent urinary infections, urinary incontinence in women, sexual dysfunction in men, kidney stones and infertility.
His services can be availed of on laser prostate surgery, video urodynamic studies, microscopic vasectomy reversal, minimal invasive incontinence surgery and penile prosthesis implantation.
Dr Pillai – MBBS, MD, Dip Uro, MRCS, Ch.M(Uro), FRCS (Uro), FEBU from the UK – is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a member of Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and a fellow of the European Board of Urology.
“Laser surgery, microscopic surgery and minimal invasive technologies have taken over most of the surgical treatments in urology,” said Dr Pillai.
“Sexual dysfunction in men and urinary incontinence in women are a few of the most common urology problems not addressed due to social stigma.
“Urinary symptoms may be indicative of benign conditions to cancers.
“We have to use this window of opportunity to detect any cancer so that we can do an appropriate timely cure.”
