His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received a cable of congratulations from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and Supreme Council for Women president. Princess Sabeeka expressed pride in the success of Shaikha Aisha bint Rashid Al Khalifa in piloting a Royal Bahraini Air Force fighter jet. She congratulated the Premier on Shaikha Aisha’s choice of such an important field, and on her brave decision to serve Bahrain’s armed forces.

New chat service
The Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry launched a live chat yesterday to communicate with commercial companies and individual institutions. The initiative, which allows investors to chat directly with the customer service centre, will be available from Sunday to Thursday from 7.30am to 3.30pm. The ‘Live Chat’ service will be available through https://www.sijilat.bh/ and customer service staff will immediately respond to queries and solve all problems that may arise, said a statement.

Forty-eight housing units in Hamad Town have been fined since 2016 for construction violations. Administrative action taken against violators includes suspension of all government transactions pending court judgements or removal of such violations, said head of control and inspection division Abdulaziz Al Wadi. He said 26 violations have been referred to Public Prosecution to face legal action, which includes removal of unlicensed buildings at the violators’ expense and doubling fines. Some homeowners in Hamad Town carried out internal alterations without the Housing Ministry’s approval and municipal licence, he pointed out.
The fast and middle lanes for south-bound traffic on Saar flyover at the junction of Shaikha Khalifa Bin Salman Highway and Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Highway will be closed for maintenance work over the weekend. The closure which started at 11pm last night will last until 5pm tomorrow.
