Bahrain Tennis Federation vice president Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa attended parts of Wimbledon Tennis Championship in London.
He was accompanied by Bahrain Tennis Club president Khamis Al Muqla and JC’s Tennis Academy CEO Joseph Henriques.
On the sidelines of his visit to the Wimbledon Tennis Complex, Shaikh Abdul Aziz met with International Tennis Federation (ITF) president David Haggerty and tournament organising officials who briefed him on how to prepare and organise such a huge event.
Wimbledon is the oldest grand slam of the four major world tournaments in tennis. It was first held in 1877 and it is the only grand slam being played on grass courts.
Shaikh Abdul Aziz also invited experts in this field to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain and consider the possibility of a joint co-operation for Bahrain to organise one of the major tennis championships.
