Meanwhile, Bahraini artists Abdullah Suwayed, Khalil Al Mutawa and Sami Rashdan praised the great role played by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, Bahrain Athletics Association president and Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities honorary president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in supporting the youth movement in the kingdom through pioneering initiatives in many areas, including sports.
They pointed out that the futsal league for youth centres, national clubs, young women, people with disabilities and communities is a pioneering initiative in the discovery of sports talent. The artists were at the venue to watch Tuesday’s matches.
Suwayed said the league achieves many goals, most notably enhancing patriotism and social ties among all participants. “This sport gathering provides youth with the platform to launch their abilities and innovation in futsal, which contributes to the discovery of talents that benefit local clubs and the national team,” he added.
Al Mutawa said, “This sports gathering is a pioneering idea that will achieve many aspirations by embracing Bahraini youth from all governorates of the kingdom in a fair competition, giving them the opportunity to highlight their potential. It also contributes to strengthening bonds of brotherhood and friendship among compatriots.”
The league, organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in partnership with Shaikh Khalid’s Media Office, is part of Shaikh Khalid’s initiatives to support youth in sports and humanitarian fields. The league runs until August 9.
