HAMZA Kooheji yesterday announced that he will be competing in the upcoming Brave Combat Federation’s 16th event to be held in Abu Dhabi on September 21.
Bahrain’s first professional mixed martial artist made the announcement while attending the Brave Global Expansion 2018 event held at Sofitel Hotel.
Hamza added that he had been training since the day he suffered his first defeat at Brave 12 held in Jakarta earlier this year.
Kooheji has three wins in Brave promotions out of four appearances. The Bahraini combat sports athlete revealed that he had embarked on a strict training schedule arranged by Jordanian superstar Abdul Kareem Al-Selwady in Texas, US.
Hamza had extensive training camps in Fortis MMA in Texas and Extreme Studio Performance centre.
He said the Abu Dhabi event will mark a new journey in his career and help him emerge stronger.
“After my last fight I was not happy. My performance was so bad. So I started training the next day. I travelled to Texas on the invitation of Abdul Kareem Al Selwady to train at Fortis MMA and with coach Mike at Extreme Studio Performance,” said Kooheji.
“I will give my 100 per cent in my upcoming fight and make everyone who believe in me proud. Also this is a great moment for Bahrain. Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has changed the sport of MMA entirely. The coming events are an opportunity for Bahraini athletes to make Bahrain proud.”
The Brave 16 event, to be held under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, marks the return of Brave Combat Federation to the United Arab Emirates which last hosted the fourth edition of the promotion.
