Abu Dhabi: Emirati player Mohammed Khalfan Al-Harassi is evicted from the national Olympic football team for his involvement in the acts of violence which marred the friendly match between Malaysia and the UAE in Kuala Lumpur.
The UAE Football Federation Association announced the eviction of the player based on the initial report submitted by the team’s administrative officials, Albayan reported
The association regretted the acts of violence which were caused by the Emirati player and reiterated commitment of all UAE teams to fair play in all regional, continental and international competitions.
A video recording showed Al-Harassi as he attacked a Malaysian player, which triggered an altercation involving other players from both teams.
The UAE Football Federation Association has officially apologised to its Malaysian counterpart, deploring the violence which marred the match.
