Riyadh: The Saudi Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York delivered last night an urgent message to Security Council President Karen Pierce and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, according to SPA.
The Saudi Permanent Representative to the UN Nations Abdullah bin Yahya Al Mouallimi said in his message to the Security Council that the Arab coalition conducted a legitimate military action that targeted Houthi leaders who were responsible for recruiting and training young children, and then sending them to the battlefields in Yemen.
"The military action, which was conducted in conformity with the International Humanitarian Law and its Customary Rules, also targeted one of the most prominent trainers on weapons, including a sniper trainer."
He said that that the Saudi-led coalition had referred the incident immediately to the Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) for investigation, and to conduct their assessment of the procedures and conditions and announce the results expeditiously.
"The team will soon be completing their investigation into this incident, and release the results publicly," he said.
