MANAMA: Bahrain is set to see a one-off 2-3 per cent spike in inflation (rise in consumer prices) as a result of value-added tax (VAT) early next year, according to an expert.
EY Mena VAT implementation leader David Stevens told the GDN in an exclusive interview that he also saw a short-term drop in spending in the country in the wake of the new consumption tax .
