BAHRAINIS in Indonesia were urged to be cautious after powerful earthquakes rocked the country yesterday.
A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck in the sea 124km north-northeast off the holiday island of Lombok at a very shallow depth of 1km, the US Geological Survey reported.
However, there was no immediate tsunami alert from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre.
Earlier yesterday a tremor of 6.3 magnitude struck the island, where an earthquake earlier this month killed more than 430 people.
The Foreign Ministry urged Bahrainis on the islands of Lombok and Bali to be cautious.
“In case of emergency please contact the Bahrain Embassy at +62816400222, +628111356535 or the follow-up office at the ministry at +97317227555,” said Bahrain’s Embassy in Jakarta on its official Twitter account.
However, no casualties or injuries were reported among Bahrainis.
