The annual process of replacing the black and gold cloth wrapping the Kaaba takes place when pilgrims head to Mount Arafat to witness a key ritual during the pilgrimage.
Last night, torrential rain and strong gusts of wind fell on the City Mecca as the customary removal of the old Kiswa was underway.
The General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection forecast an unstable weather to continue today in Mecca and other neighbouring areas.
