Oman’s Public Prosecution has assured of justice to the mother of Ruwaida Abdel Aziz, a Tunisian expat who lost her life when she was run over recently, Oman Observer reported.
The prosecution said that the accused is in custody and will be brought before the court as soon as investigations are completed and that justice will be carried out prescribed by law.
Ruwaida was run over by a woman following an argument at a party. The suspect was arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
According to the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation, both the victim and the accused were attending a birthday party at a farm in the Al Rumais area of Barka Wilayat when an argument ensued between the two of them.
Following the squabble, the accused is said to have stormed out of the venue. She was pursued by the Tunisian woman in the hope of calming her. However, boiling with rage, the accused reportedly ran over Ruwaida with her vehicle several times.
She was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital. Apart from the accused, police also detained some guests at the party pending investigation.
