Lost youth

IT’S no surprise so many children are obese and unhealthy. Haven’t people heard of the law of unintended consequences?

When I was a child we would go outside to play, take part in physical activity and generally have fun outdoors, exploring the world around us. We would spend time with grandparents, who had free time to take us on day trips.

We would eat healthy, real food, not this junk fast food of today.

Now governments pander to the big food manufacturers and allow them to stuff their products with sugar and fat. They raise the pension age so we all have to keep on working and grandparents can’t fill the gap.

And what do we have? Children who eat junk food, crouch over computers and mobiles instead of playing outside, and whose life expectancy is reduced. O brave new world.
