Crowne Plaza Muscat reopens after renovation

GDN Online Desk

Muscat - Crowne Plaza Muscat has reopened on September 1 after completion of the renovation of the Port Cochere, the lobby, the reception, the extended food and beverage terrace and the new infinity swimming pool.

In a filing to Muscat Securities Market, Gulf Hotels Oman said the work related to the all-day dining restaurant and the Edge restaurant are scheduled to be ready and operational in October.

With the main renovation contract awarded to Douglas OHI for RO2,050 million, Crowne Plaza was closed for renovation from May this year.

The total estimated cost equipment and furniture will be around RO1.45 million, the company said in its earlier filing to MSM.

“Around RO3.5 million will be raised through a term loan from the bank while RO 2.50 million and RO1 million will be raised from internal accruals and surplus funds of the company. The hotel will benefit from the renovation in the long-term,” the statement said.
