Muscat – The Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) has started deploying manpower and machinery in preparation for the start of the Indian Ocean Wave 18 exercise, which will be taking part in the Sahel region with the active participation of participation of about 4,000 people.

As Oman gets ready to take part in the Indian Ocean Wave 18, or tsunami simulation exercise, guidelines were issued to be observed by local residents in and around the Sawadi Beach and the visitors, including media teams.

The exercise is being organised by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC).

According to official sources in PACA, public will be allowed to watch the exercises between 8 am and 5 pm if they follow Royal Oman Police (ROP) and the Public Authority for Civil Defence (PACDA) guidelines. PACDA is also taking part in the exercise.
