MANAMA: Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has held discussions with the Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the real-estate arm of Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat.
Aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, the discussions centered on ways to increase co-operation and reinforce bilateral relations between the tourism and real estate sectors.
The meeting was attended by BTEA chief executive Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa and Edamah chief executive Amin Al Arrayedh along with other officials.
During the meeting, various joint projects were discussed and a strategic co-ordination mechanism was established in order to strengthen collaboration between the tourism and real estate sectors.
Shaikh Khalid also reiterated BTEA’s readiness in supporting Edamah’s tourism-related projects.
“The new development projects, which provide a wide range of leisure and entertainment facilities; feature appealing attractions for locals and residents; and moreover, draw in tourists from across the GCC. This further strengthens the kingdom’s position as a tourist destination in the region, increasing the sector’s contribution to the national economy,” said Shaikh Khalid.
Mr Al Arrayed praised the BTEA’s efforts to improve the tourism sector and develop it to benefit Bahrain by promoting country at tourism events as well as local and international exhibitions, further attracting foreign investment.
