AMA International School – Bahrain (AMAISB) celebrated the success of its teachers and support staff last Tuesday, after completing a series of professional development programmes provided by Success Training Centre (STC) and supported by Tamkeen, Bahrain.
The five programmes provided were: teachers professional development in assessment, observation and coaching; effective session planning for differentiated and co-operative training/learning; total quality of strategic management; operational planning; the art of dealing with others; and health and safety.
The series were conducted from January to May 2018.
Thirty-six Bahrainis and 101 non-Bahrainis received certificates, while 10 staff members received a health licence that qualifies them to conduct first aid treatment.
Furthermore, the teachers and officers – Zahra Annan, Nabeeha Ali Jassim, Zainab Sayed, Maryam Khalil, Ayman Mirza and Kefaia Almubarak – gave testimonials on how the professional development programmes enhanced their skills as educators and impacted the academic achievements of their students.
School director Marietta S Sicat expressed her satisfaction with the professional development provided and hopes to have a continuous partnership with Tamkeen and the Success Training Centre (STC) headed by Dr Majeed Sanad, in developing competent teachers and support staff at the AMAISB.
