Saudi deports 425,574 illegal expats

Riyadh – Saudi Arabia has so far deported a total of 425,574 expatriates for overstaying their residence permits, flouting the labour laws and violating border security. 
The deportees were part of 1,693,428 expatriates who were arrested in crackdown on illegal foreign workers,  which started on the 15th  of November 2017. 
The Saudi authorities have taken legal action against 282, 089 illegal expatriates and referred 236, 816 to their respective embassies. 
 A total of 293, 445 are facing deportation pending completion of their bookings and travel procedures. 
The Saudi security authorities announced that the number of violators who were caught in breach of the border security stood at 128,055 – 55% of whom are Yemeni nationals. 
Ethiopians who were caught violating border security regulations make up 42%, while other nationalities constitute the remaining 3%. 
The police caught 1362 expatriates as they were attempting to leave the Saudi territories illegally.
