Abu Dhabi – A child who was stuck inside a vehicle was rescued by Abu Dhabi Police on Monday.
Police were notified that the girl was stuck in an SUV at Bandar area in Yas Island.
A team was dispatched to rescue the girl. A picture posted on Abu Dhabi Police's social media account shows a broken window pane in the hands of a firefighter.
Major General Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, director of the central operations department, said: "Children should not be left unattended under any circumstances."
"Leaving children in cars for long periods can cause serious harm to the child, depriving them of oxygen and making them sleepy. High temperatures can also result in dehydration."
The girl's father thanked Abu Dhabi police's timely intervention in rescuing his daughter.
