UN-believable!

Letters
Karim Mansouri

AFTER reading your article ‘Steps to avoid pay delays’, (GDN, August 6), I wish to bring to the attention of readers that the International Labour Organisation is a franchise of unelected officials and part of the United Nations.

Yes, it is important to pay salaries on time, however, we do not need the United Nations involved as this is already covered in the Bahraini laws and in Islamic jurisprudence.

In your article Ms Kagan, an ILO official, refers to South Korea, value added tax, the Bahrain Central Bank and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority.

Korea is partitioned, by whom and why? And the central banks, it is worthy to note the recent comments of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov: “Washington uses the dollar when it wants to punish a country”.

Overall, Bahrain and the entire Arab world need to be very cautious when dealing with the United Nations and their franchises such as the ILO, the International Monetary Fund, and the Federal Reserve system (America’s central bank, a for-profit, unaudited, private company!); as they are known to strip countries of their resources and leave them in a state of poverty. See the Philippines, Libya, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan and the wars against China and Russia.

I hope that the Arab world will pull itself together and divorce itself from the United Nations and the Federal Reserve system and join China and Russia in the Belt and Road Initiative, mentioned in a letter by the Chinese Ambassador, Anwaer, ’Risk and reward’, (GDN, September 6).
