Manama: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday stressed the need to continue the development march by turning challenges into opportunities – whose results would benefit the nation and its citizens.

He made the remarks as he chaired the Cabinet session, which was attended by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, at Sakhir Palace.

His Majesty called for enhancing the efficiency of government spending, reducing operational expenses and increasing non-oil revenues to keep pace with the kingdom’s economic growth.

He gave instructions to implement executive programmes to boost development, increase investments and streamline government procedures to create quality opportunities for citizens.

The Prime Minister underlined the government’s keenness to ensure fiscal sustainability and create suitable economic conditions that would enable it to be well-prepared for the future.
