Director of upcoming space film 'First Man' Damien Chazelle defended the exclusion of a scene where Neil Armstrong (Ryan Gosling) was seen planting the U.S. flag on the moon.
Chazelle, while speaking to Variety, said that the focus of the film was to pay a tribute to the mission, and not that very specific event.
He added that the film focused on the people who sacrificed everything to achieve this superhuman feat.
Previously, Chazelle mentioned that audience should notice a specific scene where the U.S. flag is seen standing on the moon's surface.
Earlier, Gosling, who also defended the exclusion, said that landing on the moon was a "human achievement."
"First Man" depicts the story about the years leading up to the Apollo 11 mission.
The space drama is slated to hit theatres on October 12. (ANI)
