UAE to participate in restoring Iraqi Mosul city

Muscat –  The UAE attended the first international meeting on "Revive the Spirit of Mosul" initiative in the French capital Paris.

The conference aims to review to step up international efforts for the reconstruction and recovery of Mosul and to present major projects that will contribute to the restoration of heritage sites and rebuild educational institutions. 

Noura Mohamed Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, highlighted the importance of focusing the efforts of strategic partners on humanitarian aspects in the recovery and rehabilitation of the city of Mosul. 

"This project does not only aim to protect heritage but also to stand against terrorism, support Iraq's economy, provide job opportunities, support sustainable development, and nurture the values of tolerance, peace, and hope for the region.", she said.
