Muharraq and Al Najma will battle for the Super Cup title tonight.
The match will kick off at 7pm at Bahrain National Stadium in Isa Town.
Both teams will aim to make it a double triumph with Muharraq having won the league title last season and Al Najma the King Cup. Muharraq have won the Super Cup three times – in 1995, 2006 and 2013 – while Al Najma have lifted it twice – in 2007 and 2008.
Muharraq had held training in Turkey and played a game against Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia during the Arab Clubs Championship. Coached by Salman Shereeda, Muharraq will depend on professional players like Libyan Mohammed Solah and Tunisian Zeyad Derbali as well as ace local players Waleed Al Hayyam, Abdulwahab Ali, Jamal Rashid, Ibrahim Al Obaidly, Abdulla Abdo and goalkeeper Sayed Mohammed Jaffar.
Al Najma, coached by Tunisian Fathi Al Obaidly, will depend on Senegalese Mamado and Syrian Moayyed Kholi along with Ahmed Abdulla, Ali Madan, Kumail Al Atham and goalkeeper Sayed Shubbar Alawi.
