The UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has denied allowing WhatsApp and Skype calling features in the country, Al Bayan reported.
A TRA official spokesman refuted the claims which he described as mere baseless rumours, which were posted on social media.
The TRA has on several occasions maintained that any application or service of this type must comply with the applicable regulatory framework in the country.
The TRA board suspended the WhatsApp and Skype calling features last December.
