An Omani has been jailed for six months for harassing a woman, Times of Oman reported.
The convict intercepted the Omani woman on the street and forced her to note down his phone number.
The Public Prosecution charged the man with harassing the woman and referred him to stand trial.
The court also fined the convict OMR10,000 in moral compensation to the woman and ordered him to pay all the legal fees.
On August 4, 2016, the victim filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution about the convict, accusing him of insulting her dignity twice.
He first intercepted the woman at a filling station parking lot and gave her his phone number on a piece of paper, saying that he wanted to get to know her.
In the second instance, he harassed her as she was leaving a hospital, although she informed him that she is married and a mother of seven children.
That day, the convict stalked her in the parking lot and grabbed the door of the car, forcing her to take his phone number.
